Gingerbread House
Growing up I usually got to go to my grandmas house and make a gingerbread house. It has been a little difficult since I moved away, but this year my grandma had all the pieces baked and ready for me to pick up at Thanksgiving. I finally found a few minutes in my busy life to decorate it. I think it turned out pretty cute.

Johnny Elf
When I was growing up each year on December 1st Johnny Elf appeared in my house. He was there to help Santa Clause keep a closer eye on my family. (mostly the kiddos) He would move around each night and I always looked forward to searching for him in the morning. As my family grew, a second elf began to come. So for years Johnny and Eddie Elf visited our house from Dec. 1- 25. They disappeared on Christmas Eve catching a ride on Santa's sleigh. 6 years ago I got married and moved out of the house. Maybe the elves didn't know where I lived, but they have never found me. Maybe it is because we have little Ellie in the house now, but Johnny has found his way to 3267 Casey Dr.

A Day Out With Friends
Yesterday was a very busy day for me. I usually get lots done around the house on Saturdays but not yesterday. I started the day watching my friends little girl while she played the piano for the primary program practice. Then I had an old friend come into town (we have not seen each other in 3 1/2 years). We went out to lunch and ate at Smash Burger. Mmmmmm! We had lots of catching up to do.
Angie Marie and Angie Marie. Hehehe we call eachother twins because we have so many silly things in common.
- same name
- both have a little brother named Zach
- both played the flute
- both were FCCLA president in HS
- Both worked at Prestwitch Farms
- We both have 3 kids - just 2 of mine are dogs
I am sure there were more things we came up with 10 years ago, but at least you get the idea.
I ran to JoAnn's to get some fabric for some Christmas gifts I plan on making. I got home, changed and went to a baptism for a guy in our ward. (We are ward missionaries so we try to attend all of them, seems to be 2 or 3 a month lately.) After that I rushed down to the Sunset Station Casino where I met some more friends at the theater to see Breaking Dawn. It was pretty good to me since I never got around to reading the last book. I have been distracted by a little "bean" who always wants to play. Anyway it made for a busy day and it is good to know I can still get out with friends even though I am a mommy now.
Megan, Michelle, Tara, and Angie waiting for the movie to start.

6 Years
Well I am a little late posting this but Roy and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary on October 20th. We hardly got to see eachother that day. Between my job and his school schedule that day I felt happy to get a kiss. I did have a little message written with dry erase marker on the bathroom mirror. But don't worry. We did go out together (even without Ellie) to celebrate 2 days later. Roy's mom was here to watch Ellie. We went out to dinner at Panera Bread. (Kind of lame but I was not too hungry). Then we went to the Vertical Horizon Concert at the Silverton Hotel/Casino. We had pretty good seats. I would say the 5th row. Then we got to meet the band afterwards. Trust me we didn't wait for hours in line. We were some of the first out so we were 2nd line to see them. So we bought their new CD and had them all autograph it. They were pretty nice.
These past 6 years have flown by and I am sure we are on warp speed now that Ellie is here. She will be 6 months next week. Sunday, October 23, 2011

Fun and Busy Weekend
Friday night Roy had his annual softball game with the PGA students. Ellie and I were the only spectators... It was still fun to watch Roy hit a home run! On Saturday we attended the 17th annual Bite of Las Vegas. It was our 3rd time attending. It is something fun and cheap to do here in Vegas. We got there early before it got too hot since this year we have Ellie to worry about. We got to see Colbie Caillat perform and we also tested food from a few restaurants around town. We have found two new restaurants we can't wait to visit. Maybe this Thursday we will check one out for our 6 year anniversary.
Ellie and Roy listening to the music.
The most delicious drink from Hash Hash a Go Go. We get this every year and it is YUMMY!
Trying to keep Ellie in the shade. Everyone thought she was so cute. The security guards there couldn't get over how funny it was that she had sunglasses on.
With all these fun events going on I still had my usual weekend list of "things to do" plus extra stuff that has not been getting done. Having a baby makes getting things that you can put off done... so I think I am almost caught up. I wish I had time to clean the carpets, but instead here I sit writing a blog... There is always next week, Right?

Cozy Ellie
I know I am posting a lot of Ellie lately, but she is much more cute and entertaining than me!!! This past week has been very cold in Las Vegas. We have had lots of rain too. Ellie wasn't sleeping too well and we decided it was because she was too cold. She is a kicker and won't keep a blanket on at night. I remembered we got these awesome sleeping bag sleepers at her shower up in Utah. I dug them out and she is sleeping much better and just looks so cozy. SEE.
Oh and this picture was also taken at 5 months. Can you believe she is that old already. AND I finally reached my pre pregnancy weight. It only took 5 months. Better than the 9 it took me to gain it! Now to keep losing.

What a Cutie Pie
Ellie stays very active all day. She doesn't stop talking and is rolling from side to side all day long. Apparently she wore herself out and crashed.
Today Ellie is 21 weeks old. One week shy of 5 months. I can't believe how fast time flies when you have a baby. They really do grow so fast. I love how happy she is all the time.
Oh and we can't forget about Macie. Isn't she cute too? She found a warm pile of Ellie's laundry and decided to get comfy. Ellie really thinks the dogs are funny. If she sees them she usually laughs and then sticks her hand out for Molly to lick. Don't worry I clean her hand very well after she has done this.

What a Busy Week
Well it has been a busy week.
Football season is in full swing so Ellie and Roy are sure to not miss a game.
Trying to figure out a whole new curriculum, with new standards for the district and a new way of having to do lesson plans is pretty much making me go CRAZY. I am slowly getting it figured out, but what a lot of extra work some of it is.
This past week I turned 27. Yep one year older. Still feel young, so that is good I guess. Roy was an amazing husband. I will just make a list of ALL the things he did to keep it exciting for me.
- Breakfast in bed with the Beatles birthday song blasting!
- Flowers at work and he had them sing and guess how old I was. (the kids thought I was only 16)
- Ice Cream cake
- New sheets for our bed (that I wanted) he washed and dryed them and had the whole bed made when I got home from work.
- He aslo got me an excercise ball since I really don't have time to go to the gym to work out after work.
- Then we went to dinner!!! (Thanks Aubri for the Cheese Cake Factory gift card)
I think my husband should win Husband of the year!
My teenie tiny ice cream cake!!! I am pretty sure it cost more that my plate at dinner! But is sure was yummy!
Happy 27th Birthday Angie!!!
We also had Open house at school last night. I think this should be done before school even starts, not 3 weeks after. Oh well. I had an amazing turn out!!! NOT. I had 5 families come out of 19 students. I believe that is 26%.
Well now the week has come to an end. I have been able to clean my house a little and help out with some laundry. It is much harder to rest because Ellie is very active and wants to be doing stuff all the time. Hmmm I wonder where she got that gene from??? Well better get back to my family! Thanks for reading.

Sleeping In Her Crib
Well we finally got around to putting Ellie in her crib to sleep at night. It seemed we kept postponing it. Not sure if it was because I wouldn't be able to reach over and check on her really easily or if I just didn't want her to grow up. I blame it because we kept going out of town or she would have a stuffy nose, or a sick tummy. Anyway she has done 4 nights and is doing okay. I would love to say she is perfect, but some nights I get up with her more than I want to. I really need to let her start crying it out before running in.

3 Months
Okay so I am a little late on posting this. Ellie is now 3 1/2 months but when I took a last minute trip up to Utah to visit family one last time before I went to work I had my sister in law take some pictures of Ellie. I have to say they turned out ADORABLE.

And now Roy's back hurts...
So yesterday I got this wild hair up my butt that I wanted to paint Ellie's crib white to match her changing table. Roy was going to go along with it and even help. He told me to go to the store and get all the supplies so when he got home from work he could get started on it. We decided to wait until today since Roy didn't have to work. Roy got up early and went golfing and I got up early too so I could work out, get my other craft projects done before we started another one and clean up the kitchen before he got back. He walked in the door and said "so yeah, we are not painting that crib. My mom said she would give us $50 dollars to go towards a new one since the old one was a drop down anyway." I of course was not going to complain about that. Now I didn't have to sand down the old one and try and make a paint job look good. So long story short we went and found this cute white crib at Burlington. Roy took the other one apart right away and got started putting this one together. He has been having back problems on and off all week and all the crawling around in such a small space, this one together was the cherry on top. BUT I love the crib soooooo much and am very happy with the purchase. Oh and also I can reach Ellie to put her in and out of the crib. Since the other one was a drop down (but you're not supposed to use those anymore) we had the drop side against the wall. So the sides were so tall and with me being so short it was kind of awkward to get her to go to sleep in it. The Old Crib

Ellie's Blessing
While we were up in Utah for the 4th of July weekend we blessed Ellie in my parent's ward. It went very nice and Roy did a great job. Ellie looked absolutely beautiful in her dress. Unfortunately it was so hot in the chapel I am sure she was not too comfortable. After church we had a get together with family and friends to eat at my parents house. We had lots of BBQ chicken sandwiches, salads, and lots of deserts. It all came together very nicely. Thank you to everyone that helped make it happen. I took lots of pictures and couldn't decide what to post so if you are patient enough you can watch the slide show. Ellie's photo shoot in her dress are also included.

Her 1st 4th of July!
What a busy 4th of July weekend we had this year. We drove up to Utah with a car load of stuff. We are very happy we upgraded cars and no longer have the mustang. We spent Friday catching up with family and old friends. Saturday we headed up to Heber City to attend my cousins baptism. Saturday night we watched the fireworks that were shot off at the Stadium of Fire. Sunday we blessed Ellie in my parents ward. (post/pictures of that to come later) Monday the actual 4th we got up early to head down to Provo to watch the hot air balloons fill up and take off. Instead we watched them fill up and blow over with a wind burst that came through. That was more fun than watching them go up. You would have thought there was a tsunami or something. The people were screaming and running away. We came home and my dad cooked breakfast. Mmmmm. My favorite part came next. I got a nap. Yes this doesn't happen much because I like to be busy. But life caught up with me. Unfortunately I dreamed of taking care of Ellie so it was not to restful of a nap. Roy's mom had a BBQ for lunch and it was fun to show off Ellie to the family. Now to relax a little for a week before we head back to Vegas!

A Random Post
I first have to start out saying that I think my baby is the cutest in the world. Yes this picture was taken very early in the morning when I could have been sleeping, but she is worth being awake for. Roy got this idea that we could save some money by giving Molly a haircut by ourselves instead of paying $40+ for one by a professional. I have to say during the whole process I was willing to pay $100 dollars for a haircut. But all said and done, she doesn't look that bad... I guess I am happy we still have the extra $40. I heard once that the difference between a good hair cut and a bad one is a week. So Molly sorry if you hate it just wait a little bit!
Oh also since I am a stay at home mom for now I am trying to be a little more productive than just sitting on the couch perusing the Internet while Ellie sleeps. I have decided to clean out one cupboard in the kitchen a day. (obviously I do more than this around the house.) My most recent tackle was the pantry. I wish I would have taken a before picture. Just imagine it so full you could not even tell what there was in there to eat. I threw out a lot of expired food... Now we can see what we have and hopefully we will eat it before it goes yucky.
