We Want to Know What You Think

We are moving right along through this pregnancy. Not too many complaints other than my clothes don't want to fit me anymore. We get to find out 4 days after Christmas what our little Smith will be. Vote on our poll located on the right side of our blog.

I Love My Husband BUT.....

My husband is a great guy. Tonight I am not sure what he was thinking. I asked him to take out the trash. He is usually really good about doing this. 15 minutes later I walked by and the trash was not taken out. So being the wife that didn't really want to start anything I just did it myself. Next thing I knew Roy had emptied a kitchen cabinet and stuck Macie inside and told me to come quick and bring the camera. I guess this is more entertaining than taking out the trash. Yes I will understand if you never want to eat at my house again!

School Beautification Day

Our school held its first School beautification day yesterday. All were encouraged to come out and help clean up our school and make it pretty. I was assigned to paint a mural by the kindergarten classrooms with my friend Nichole. It was actually kind of fun. I think we did a pretty good job. I was also impressed because I didn't get any paint on me other than the bottom of my shoe!!! Any of you who have seen me after I paint I am quite a mess. Here is our finished product.

Thanksgiving 2010

This year my family came down to Vegas for Thanksgiving. It turned out wonderful and it was fun to have them here to visit. My sister had never been to Vegas before so we had to show her around a little.

A Purchace with a Purpose

As you all may know we have had many cars in our past. Everything from a scooter to two different mustangs. Most people thought we were crazy and the truth is we probably were. Recently we have done it again. Roy got a crazy idea that there wouldn't be enough room for the family in either of our cars. So we went from this...
To this...

All because Roy doesn't think 3 people and 2 dogs can fit in a Mustang. Thats right, I said 3 people. We are having a baby!!!! This little Smith will arive in late May. We are very excited and can't wait.

A Little Bit of Halloween at Our House

I grew up in a house that was always decked out for Halloween. Now I do not have the space or the brains to come up with some of the creative decor my dad did. Here is my attempt to keep the Prisbrey tradition alive.

Nothing too Exciting

I never thought I would go weeks at a time without blogging. It is hard to get motivated to blog when nothing very exciting seems to be going on. We went up to Utah last week to say "See Ya later" to my little brother who is leaving on his mission to England in a couple weeks. We also had the opportunity to go to the temple with him and the rest of my family.
It was a quick trip and back to work and adding to the many students I already have. I guess admin either hates me or REALLY trusts me. They keep giving me more and more students. Students that are extra smart but too young for 1st grade they say give to Mrs. Smith because she will challenge them. Kids with behavior problems that other teachers can't stand they give to me because I must be good at fixing that too???? I don't know... All I know is my class is 5 students more than the other Kindergarten classes. Ahh sorry I am beginning to vent.
Roy is finally going back to work next week. We are very excited for him to go back, not only to make a little extra money, but he is BORED out of his mind.
Sorry this post was so boring, but maybe soon we will have more exciting happenings.

Caricature

Roy and I went to the outlet malls last week to spend some of my birthday money. On our way out we saw this lady who drew caricatures. I have always wanted to get one of these done of Roy and I. There was a sale going on and so we got it done. Hehehe

Catching Up

It has been a very crazy year. Lets just say I am glad I did not have to change grades this year. It seems each year the amount of stuff I "have" to do besides teach gets more and more. I can't imagine starting from scratch and trying to juggle all the additional "stuff" teachers have to do. I have 28 little 4 and 5 year old kids right now. Some days, Yes I want to pull out my hair. Other days they really do remind me of how lucky I am to be a teacher. As always I have my hands full of a variety of problems, very gifted, ELL, attitudes, behavior, lack of motivation, talkative, wiggly, selective hearing, winy, cry babies, and I even have a few that are VERY RESPECTFUL. Those will be the ones that keep me going. We have just finished up the 3rd week of school and I just hope I will have them ready for 1st grade because it will be here before we know it.

This past week I celebrated my 26th birthday. I woke up before the alarm went off not because I was incredibly excited but because I HATE the sound of that NOISE. As I went to kiss Roy good bye I got in a little trouble because he didn't hear the alarm go off... He WAS going to make me breakfast in bed... Oops! It was probably for the better since he woke up sick. I went to work and was trying to get a few things done when my friend Michelle (she teaches 1st grade right next door to me) walked in with her girls. She had donuts, chocolate milk and present for me. We invited some other teachers who taught in our same pod to come join us for breakfast. I opened the gift she brought me. She had made some blocks that said FAMILY on them. We had went to a craft fair two days before and I saw them and said I liked them but they would be way easy to make instead of paying a ton of money for them.

Later that day Roy showed up at school with a beautiful bouquet of flowers. He brought them into my classroom and had my students sing happy birthday. He also took and filled my car up with gas. AHHH When I got home we went out to dinner. We decided to go to CPK since we had a million unknown coupons and decided the chances were pretty good that we would end up with a pretty decent price on dinner. We were right one of them was 50% off!!! Then we came home and just hung out since Roy didn't feel well.

I didn't really get any presents on my birthday since I got them all a week early. Roy doesn't believe in waiting to have something if it is already purchased and you know you will get it anyway. I got new golf clubs

I also got a new phone

and a new lunch bag.

Like I said I am catching up, not only on my blog but hanging up cute stuff I have had sitting for years. I finally got this up and I wish I had decided to hang it sooner.

Thank your for staying in touch with us. I am pretty sure we are headed back up to Utah at the beginning of October.

Molly Got a Hair Cut

My little Molly is not a scruffy little orphan dog anymore. We got her hair cut because of the heat down here in Vegas. Roy got her Cubs collar and so between that and the short hair she looks like a boy. But we still love her.

I'm No Photographer

I know I have no clue what I am doing when it comes to being behind a camera. I am pretty sure I just got lucky with this one.

Summer Update

I know it has not been that long since I last blogged, but I really feel like I have neglected to write about my summer. As you know I am in Utah living with my family for a few months while Roy is on his internship. I have stayed quite busy doing crafts and chores. But I did get to go out to Nebraska and visit Roy a couple weeks ago. That has been the highlight of my summer so far. While I was there we went to Mount Rushmore, and visited a few tourist attractions along the way. It was as blast to spend some time with him.

Standing at the bottom of Smith Falls. Don't we look awesome with our pant legs rolled up?

At Snake River Falls in Nebraska

Smith Falls Haha our waterfall!!! Isn't it pretty?

Two days after I got home from Nebraska I packed again to head down for our families annual Lake Powell trip. It was much more relaxing this year knowing I didn't have to be back to work and figure out how to teach kindergarten the very next week. There was lots of wind but it didn't stop us from enjoying our time there. Everyday we packed a picnic for lunch and went to see something like Rainbow Bridge, Hole in the rock, and the Indian Ruins. We also found a water cave that we could go in to get out of the sun. Finally on the last day the weather was finally good enough to ski on, so we postponed our packing up a few hours to get some skiing and wake boarding in. WOW are my muscles sore now... Well worth it though. Now I am home and am trying to keep myself occupied before I leave for Las Vegas on Sunday to attend a conference. Water cave

Rainbow Bridge with everyone: Dad, Mom, Angela, Zachary, Ariele, Alyson, and Alyce.
Me, Aunt Alyson, and My mom before got pulled behind the boat.

I Couldn't Resist

Maybe I just need to have kids!

So I have wanted to get this for my little Macie since they came out. I mean she practically matches the picture on the box. They were like $15. Yeah right. Since I don't buy anything at full price I waited and waited. I found it on clearence for like $3 today and couldn't pass it up. Isn't she cute? Now when we get back to Vegas we can both snuggle up in our snuggies. (yes I have a zebra stripped one my little brother gave me for Christmas)

Keeping Busy

If any of you know me well, you know that I can't really stand to sit and do nothing for too long. I have been here in Utah a week and seem to have done a lot. I went up to Logan to see my little nephew Conner be blessed by his dad. I started making two rag quilts and finished both of them in three and a half days. I am helping my mother in law throw a bridal shower for my niece who is getting married next month. I have ideas of things I would like to do to my mom and dad's house. We will see if they will agree... Anyway here are a few pics to start out the summer with. Hopefully I will have more project pictures to post soon! I love this part of being a teacher!!! As one of my students from last year would say "it rocks!"

My Students Learned SOMETHING!

On Monday at work I was in the lunchroom watching the kids for my duty time. One of my students raised her hand and asked me "does this make me fat?" and she held up her milk carton. I said, "not if you only drink that much. Why do you ask." So she pointed to the nutrition facts that she had been "reading" and came along a word she could sound out. Total Fat 13g. All she could understand was fat and she was worried, I thought it was cute and so all the girls around her tried to read their milk too. I thought it was funny, maybe you had to have been there.

A Few Things

Well I really never posted the pictures of when Roy and I went up and saw our new little nephew Conner. He is a cutie pie!!! Plus I am now an aunt by blood... not just married into one.
Me holding Conner!!! Apparently he likes to sleep during the day...
Roy was a little nervous to hold him. Hopefully when we have kids he will get over that!!!

Also today was Field Day at school. Remember how AWESOME I was and we tie-dyed t-shirts to match. We all looked GREAT!!! What a cute class I have. Plus we were all here today so I snapped a quick shot of them in ther green shirts.

There are only like 12 days of school left. Not to sound rude, but I can't wait. My students are checked out. I can not get them to be quiet if my life depended on it. AHHHHHHH! Thank you Michelle my school neighbor and whom I visit teach invited me to go get a pedicure with her after school today. It was much needed. Thanks!
Now I am off talk to Roy online, hang out with the dogs, watch TV and go to bed. That is my new life.
