Coming Out of Her Shell

I know I blog about our dogs an awful lot, but they are like our kids for now, so if you don't care, you can stop reading.
When I take the girls to the dog park Macie always hides between my feet. We have been going to a new dog park that just opened up and she is much more out going there. This is a video of her playing with an American Eskimo. It is pretty funny to watch her go and go and go.

Macie Sure Has Grown

Today Macie is 6 months old. We have had her for about 3 and a half months and she has at least doubled in weight and probably size too. We love having her around, she has been a good friend for Molly. We miss her when she is not around, which is surprising with all the messes she makes. She is very shy, a complete opposite of Molly. She is such a sweetheart!!!

Reading Week

This past week was reading week at our school. The librarian had many fun things planned for the students to do throughout the week. We had a mystery reader every morning, and the students had to guess who it was. Our principal really sounds good as a woman. Ha ha. We dressed differently everyday. Today was pajama day. Of course I had to participate. Yesterday my students wouldn't leave the classroom until they had all personally asked me if I was wearing mine. I think they were very surprised by what I showed up wearing. I had on my monkey flannel pants and my monkey slippers. My slippers were a hit. (Thanks Mom and Dad) I got them for Christmas a couple years ago and my parents thought I would never wear them. The kids loved them. I took a few pictures of my class and the class I taught science to. Only the ones that participated got to be in the picture. Enjoy!!!

Kids, they say the darndest things

Today I decided to dress up a little. I bought a suit a little over a year ago for interviews. I haven't worn it since. I decided to pull it out of the closet and be different. I never dress way up for school. Usually some slacks and a nice looking shirt. I showed up today and received a lot of nice complements and questions "why are you dressed up?" I think people thought there must be a reason since I never do this.

I went out to the playground to do my duty (haha I said duty) and random students kept coming up to me and telling me I looked like a lawyer. I asked them if I could quit being a teacher and really become a lawyer so I could make more money. They told me I could not. That I make a better teacher then a lawyer.

I walked over to pick my students up to take them to the classroom. One of my cute little students said this and I quote. "Mrs. Smith, you are wearing a tusk!" "A tusk? you mean a tux." I said to her. She replied, "That is what I said" anyways I explained to her that it was a suit and a tux is something fancier that you would wear to a wedding or a fancy party.

Anyway it was fun to be different for a day and listen to my silly kids. By the way does anyone know what the letters "YNCK" stand for? One of my students asked me this yesterday. He said they are in some song...

Happy Birthday Roy

Thursday was Roy's 24th birthday. He is the hardest person to surprise. I pulled off surprise number 3 since we have been married. He said this one he didn't even suspect a little. I had a friend come over and decorate the house while Roy and I were at California Pizza Kitchen for his birthday dinner. Then she called a few of our friends from the ward over to be waiting in the dark for us to come home. We arrived home, Roy unlocked the door and wasn't surprised by the people there for his birthday but he was thinking someone had broken into our house. Our friends snapped this picture and if you look closely he doesn't look happy. Anyway he got over the fact that our stuff was not stolen and we had some delicious ice cream cake.

New Hair Cut

Well I finally got a hair cut. It was defiantly time for one, I hadn't had one since Halloween. My hair was so long and straggly that I wore it in a pony tail just about every day. I decided to go drastic. I figured if I hated it, I would still hate my hair, so why not right? Here it is. I think it will be shocking when I go to wring my hair out in the shower in the morning... There won't be any there... Well enjoy my lovely picture.
