Christmas 2012

Well it was an interesting Christmas this year.  Roy volunteered to work on Christmas morning.  We had originally planned to wake  up early and open presents and see what Santa brought.  Well that plan didn't happen.  Ellie ended up with a fever so we took her to the doctor on Christmas Eve morning.  She still had an earache so they put her on a second round of antibiotics.  By about 7 that night her fever was still around 103.  So we decided to go to an urgent care to see if there was something else wrong.  Turned out she had the flu.  She got a shot and a bunch more medicine.  Her fever dropped quickly after her shot and we decided we should still go to Utah.  I guess Santa forgot to come Christmas Eve. We were out late getting prescriptions and Roy had to get up early.  So we decided Ellie was young enough we could postpone Santa coming until we got back from Utah.  It was fun to play Santa this year.  We had all sorts of fun things for her to play with.  She got SOOOOO much stuff but it will be nice for her to have some age appropriate toys that might entertain her for more than 2 minutes.  Santa brought her a kitchen, table and chairs, a baby doll crib, high chair, stroller, and car seat.  He also had a cash register and cart for her to go shopping with.  All have been a big hit.  I think she was a little overwhelmed when she first saw everything (just like I assumed she would be) but the first thing she noticed was the baby bed.  Now she is cooking up a storm in her kitchen and serving mini mouse at her table.  She always wants us to sit at her little table so she can bring us invisible food and feed us tea.  She has so much personality and all these fun things help her role play so much more fun.  We hope you all had a Merry Christmas.  Here are some pictures for you to enjoy.

Ellie's first boo boo

As we were getting ready for church on Sunday we heard a crash. Ellie had tripped and fell right into Roy's night stand. She hit her face on the handle and cut her face pretty good. After skyping with grandma the nurse Trying to decide if an emergency visit was necessary we decided we could repair her ourselves. Ellie was a trooper. She cried for about 3 minutes. We taped her up good and now almost a week later she looks good. Glad we didn't go to the ER because they probably would have done the same thing we did. Anyway here she is all bandaged up. Oh and yes we did still go to church.

Our First Home

We have been living in our house for about a month. (I can't believe how fast time flies). We have been working very hard to make it home. We have painted almost every wall (bathrooms left) and hung lots of pictures. We really love our house and hope to stay here for about 5 years.  Roy got promoted to assistant golf professional at his work.  We have been very patient and things are going well. We feel very blessed in our lives right now to have a house, jobs, and the cutest little girl in the world. I have taken some pictures of the house for you all to see. They don't do justice to real life but you'll at least get the picture. Again sorry it took so long to get them posted but remember I am working full time and still have to be a mom when I get home.

Baby Sophie

My little sister had her second baby a couple weeks ago. I finally got to meet her. She is so sweet and tiny. Ellie was also excited to see her. She is a little obsessed with babies right now!

It's done!!! But we get to wait. Our closing date is scheduled for next Friday. We can't wait. I will do a nice big post after we move in, but I just wanted to show how cute our little starter home is. I think it totally screams my taste.

It doesn't take long

Seriously it has only been 2 months since they broke ground on our house. Now we are only about 6 weeks away from being done. We walked through it today to see how the inside is coming along. It was fun to see walls and closets and imagine that our furniture will actually fit on it! Here are a few pictures of what we saw.

A monster?

Yesterday we were out browsing for a refrigerator, you know getting an idea what we want when the house is done. Anyway Ellie was getting tired and started climbing on the stroller. As we were leaving the salesman told us she was a monster. Mmmm, do you see any resemblance?

Another trip to Utah

I decided last week it was just too hot to spend more time in Vegas when I had the option to visit family in Utah. So Ellie and I got in the Mazda and drove up. We went camping, visited lots of friends and family, washed the car, made homemade ice cream and sewed some baby gifts. I am sure I missed some events but lets just say we stayed busy and the 10 days went by sooooo fast. Thanks family for letting us crash your summer.
